O’Hara and Enrique’s Premier League Matchweek 2 Preview

With the Premier League now back in full swing we look ahead to what this weekend’s fixtures have in store.

Grosvenor Sport ambassadors Jamie O’Hara and Jose Enrique preview the second round of fixtures from England’s top flight, with additional focus on the weekend’s marquee clash which sees Manchester City take on Newcastle United.

Manchester City v Newcastle preview (Saturday, 20:00)

Jose Enrique: Manchester City 1 – 2 Newcastle United 15/1

I don’t think Newcastle are that far off from being able to challenge for the title but over a whole season I still think it will be Manchester City and Arsenal. We will have to wait until the transfer window closes but for me they still need a top left-back and maybe another centre-back to actually be able to go for the title, but I think even getting top four again would be a massive achievement for Newcastle. They will try to go as far as they can in the Champions League and maybe try to win one of the domestic cups.

I’m very excited about this game because for the first time in a very long time I think that this game is actually 50/50, I really believe either side could win. Normally every game you would go for Manchester City but I think Newcastle will make it a very tough game for them.

Sandro Tonali played very well against Aston Villa and for me he is a player that will keep growing and eventually he can become world class. I can see him scoring goals, he runs a lot and he is the perfect style of player for Eddie Howe so I think he can make a similar impact to Bruno Guimaraes when they signed him. Tonali is on another level and I really believe that he will be a world class player for Newcastle.

With both teams having so much quality and top strikers in Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak I hope that we will see goals. It think it will be a very close game but of course I have to edge slightly towards my former side so I think Newcastle will win the game 2-1.

Jamie O’Hara: Manchester City 2 – 2 Newcastle United 13/1

When you look at Manchester City’s team they’re a top side. They’ve got Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Rodri, and so many more so they will obviously pose a big threat to Newcastle. I look at the Newcastle side and they’re now strong throughout the whole team, and Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton is one of the best midfields in the country.

They’ve also got Anthony Gordon who played well against Aston Villa and Alexander Isak up top. Isak is an unbelievable player, he’s so good that I think he could challenge Haaland for the Golden Boot, he’s got everything. He’s quick, strong, good in the air, he can hold it up, and he can finish. If Newcastle can keep him fit then he’s a world class player.

Its’s going to be a really tough game for both sides and I can see there being goals given the quality and goal-scoring efficiency of both teams. I think it will be a great game to watch and I can see a four-goal thriller that ends two-a-piece.
